Chateau St Maximin in the south of France dates from the twelfth to 19th centuries, and is a scheduled monument. Our client wished to link an inaccessible early wing of the chateau to all levels of the rest of the chateau, and to rooftop views, whilst admitting natural light into an unused tower space. The proposed glazed roof enclosure and glass stairs have been granted historic buildings approval and the works are currently under construction.
